It’s a 1977 Rhodes Mark I Stage piano, and even though every key isn’t sampled, it’s got multiple velocity layers and sounds greata lot of care was put into. Downtown comes with pure piano presets in stretched and equal tempered tuning, as well as hybrid piano-synth presets that combine the acoustic piano samples with sounds from Live's software synthesizers.

The fullness, richness and clarity of the Studio Grand Series are a result of meticulous microphone positioning and recording with the highest quality mics, pre-amps, and D/A converters.

The pianos use Live's Macro Controls to provide individual and direct control over reverb, release noise volume, key noise volume, sustain resonance volume, tone, velocity and fine tune.
